Update

Wow it has been awhile since I have updated. Things are going well.
We are taking it slow with the adoption right now and are still getting all our plans in order. I have just gone back to work after all, I got a really nice offer and we decided it would be best for all of us if I took it. So this will allow us to save more money towards the adoption as well as get a great house. We will be moving in next month and are really looking forward to it.

Decisions...

Well we have decided I am not going to go back to work full time.
Even thought the money would be nice, we can get by without it and
I am not ready to put Zoë in daycare, especially all day.
I want to be with her and take care of her. This is what it's all about.
Her babyhood is going by at an alarming rate as it is.:(
We just got her a big girl bed this weekend!
(Which she has done an amazing job in, by the way)
We have also decided I am not going to work part time anymore,
once Bruce gets the new job. Hopefully at the beginning of the year.
So I will FINALLY get to be a full time stay at home Mommy.
I am so excited!

Now I just need a few more little ones.:)

Taking it slow.

Bruce is finishing up his school and will most
likely be starting a new job by the end of the year.
So that will be a big change for us all.

I am also toying with the idea of going back to work full time.
I hate to put Zoë in daycare yet, but we sure could use the extra money.

Lastly, we hope to be moving into a house this spring.
So instead of paying to start our home study in the apartment
and then having to pay to update it when we move.
We have decided it would be best to slow down a little and get
everything else in it's place first.

Hoping for more information on a waiting boy

We are interested in a little boy in the waiting child photo album and are hoping to find a little more about him. Wacap is currently in Thailand and hopefully they will be able to meet with this little guy for us. His file had limited information, but we did get to watch a short video of him playing. He is currently 8 and a half years old, but very small.

We are trying not to get our hopes up too much, since our homestudy is not ready.

We are just waiting right now and trying to take it easy.
We have decided not to look at the waiting child photo album anymore until our homestudy is complete. It is so easy to get your hopes up and then feel anxious that someone else will get him first. So we think it would be best for us to wait until our paperwork is at least closer to being finished.

I did receive the copies of my birth certificate from DC, so that is a big relief.
I have a little more paperwork to gather and we still have to get our background checks.

Paperwork.

We received our acceptance letter from WACAP today.:)
Now we are just waiting to get our homestudy scheduled, hopefully next month.

More collecting of the documents...
Today I sent out request and money orders for 2 copies of Zoë's birth certificate (since I have one) and 3 copies of my divorce decree.
It cost a total of $31.
I still have to get our marriage certificate and birth certificates for Bruce, Dayne and Ethan. It should cost about $120 for 3 certified copies of each of these.

The monumental task of collecting our documents begins.

I may be exaggerating a little, we are only just starting and I am usually pretty good with forms and keeping up with stuff...
but getting copies of my birth certificate has been a little confusing.
I was born in Japan on a US army base.
So I have to go through the State department in Washington DC.

Since I was born overseas I was really not sure what form I should be requesting and then I hope I filled the actual request out correctly, as I could never get anyone to answer the phone. I had to have my request notarized, include a copy of my driver's license and it could take as long as 8 weeks for them to get back to me, depending on how hard it is to find. It cost $70 for 3 copies.

But I mailed it yesterday and hopefully I will get what I need...
